I feel like a lucky-ducky to be a part of this show that opened today in Sweden. The Jordberga Konstexpo is curated by artist and performer Alexandra Kostrubala. The theme of the show is “light” …a highly general theme which allows for endless artistic interpretations.

Enjoy the images, my lovelies!

art porn ≠ porn

(art porn does not equal porn)

“art porn ≠ porn” is a series of 16 small intimate self-portraits. These were moments captured during Frantic’s performance dance, in which VHS 1980’s Pornography was light-projected onto a large area of a white wall and white mattress. Frantic Femme danced, stripped & played in the light projection, documenting & photographing herself and the experience with a small handheld digital camera. This work both pokes fun at and comments on the censorship issues that Frantic has been dealing with on her Facebook Profile(s).  By having others recently suggest that her work is “pornographic,” Frantic decided to make a collection of work, meant to hang in the walls of a gallery space, that communicates just how non-pornographic “Art-Porn” can be when hung on a white wall to be viewed by the general public & collectors.

Curator Alexandra Kostrubala speaking about the show:

“Nobody needs to be afraid of the Dark. Artist´s always show the way. Jordberga Trelleborg NOW!!!

“I am at “Jordberga Gods” where Ingmar Bergman played in Midsummersnights dream….beautiful spooky place. Here a group of local artists took over a stable to once a year make an exhibition. I was asked to curate this year so I know want to bring “Art to the people” and this Påsk Runda has a lot of people. ”So I invited the best most modern artists and all of them including Dror Feiler also burn for this non elite audience. I later heard that the Swedish Democrats tried to stop the Expo and felt even more compelled to get the exhibition out to the people. The exhibition is about “light” and people now are so afraid of the dark. I have seen that even the farmers come by and start to smile when they see Michael Nilssons human Canon or Jan Cardel moving electronic moving grass interactive sculptor. Ida Alders alchemist paintings which free-assoction made Sara the Gardner who never smiles or talks brighten up and she started to free associate to all things bones planets mold bacteria…and still not all the works are here. I hope this can open hearts and minds in this time when people are scared of the dark and that is why I would love to get the message out.”

p.s. Alexandra you totally rock my sox, babygirl! i love you so!
